Fix Lotus Notes 8.5.2, FP1, FP2 in Ubuntu 11.04

Download 2 files of Ubuntu 10.10
http://packages.ubuntu.com/maverick/i386/libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0/download
libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0_2.22.0-0ubuntu1_i386.deb
http://packages.ubuntu.com/maverick/i386/libgtk2.0-0/download
libgtk2.0-0_2.22.0-0ubuntu1_i386.deb

Extract the following files and save into /opt/ibm/lotus/notes

/opt/ibm/lotus/notes/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0
/opt/ibm/lotus/notes/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0.2200.0
/opt/ibm/lotus/notes/libgdk_pixbuf_xlib-2.0.so.0
/opt/ibm/lotus/notes/libgdk_pixbuf_xlib-2.0.so.0.2200.0
/opt/ibm/lotus/notes/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0
/opt/ibm/lotus/notes/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0.2200.0
/opt/ibm/lotus/notes/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0
/opt/ibm/lotus/notes/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0.2200.0

  2. Uhmmm now I can see the intarnal windows, but for me is often crashing notes!
    Have you tryed to send an email with an attach for instance?

  3. I use it at work everyday (I think most common function have been used), quite stable as I even use it together with Sametime.

  4. If you use it with Sametime, you need to disable the telephony as IBM recommended because it is not compatible with the sound driver yet in Ubuntu (Simply rename those plugin files in name telephony).

  5. I don't use Sametime inside lotus, I use pidgin with libmeawhile... really strange for me in unusable, it crashes every minute

    When he says: "Extract the following files and save into /opt/ibm/lotus/notes" What does he mean with "extract" I've download libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0_2.22.0-0ubuntu1_i386.deb and libgtk2.0-0_2.22.0-0ubuntu1_i386.deb, but I don't know what Calvin means with he says: "extract", someone can help me?

  8. You should able to extract deb file in Ubuntu, try right click and check for options =.=

  10. everything works here, except for the JPG attachment, they won't open (all the other attachments, I can open).

    any suggestion? Can you open JPG attachment?
